We are a mission-driven organisation launching a high-impact, specialist education provision. We are seeking an entrepreneurial and experienced special education need professional to architect and grow this new service from the ground up. You will be instrumental in establishing our provision, securing funded placements, and building lasting partnerships with schools, academy trusts, and Local Authorities. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic leader to shape a service that delivers critical 1:1 and small-group tuition to vulnerable and disadvantaged learners.

Who You Are

You are a proven leader from the education, inclusion, or commissioning sector. Your background likely includes roles such as:

  • Headteacher, Assistant/Deputy Head Teacher, or SENCO/Inclusion Lead
  • Virtual School Head, Inclusion Team Manager, or Head of Service
  • Local Authority SEND Manager, Placements Officer, or Commissioning Manager
  • Educational Consultant or Alternative Provision/PRU Placements Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Development & Launch: Lead the strategic setup and operational launch of our new special education need and disabilities academic provision.
  • Business Development & Pipeline Creation: Proactively secure funded referrals and placements by building B2B and B2G partnerships. Convert opportunities into signed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Public Sector Procurement: Take the lead on entering Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS) and frameworks, responding to tenders and mini-competitions, and navigating public-sector procurement processes.
  • Partnership Management: Become the trusted expert for our partners, ensuring a clear understanding of our provision and its impact.

Our Provision Focus

We specialize in high-quality, funded tuition and support for children with special education needs (EHCP and SEN Support). We also deliver or are developing provision for: Section 19 education, Day-6 exclusions, supporting EBSA/school-refusers, EOTAS package, reintegration, Alternative Provision placements, hospital/home tuition, LA-commissioned EHE support, ESOL/newcomer catch-up, and NEET prevention for 16-18 year-olds.

A proven track record of securing funded SEND/Alternative Provision placements with UK schools and Local Authorities or substantial prior experience in a relevant leadership role (e.g., SENCO, LA Commissioning Officer, AP Placements Manager).

Strong operational knowledge of EHCP processes, High Needs Block funding, Section 19 duties, safeguarding, and data protection. Demonstrable experience and confidence with public-sector procurement, including DPS/frameworks, tenders, and contract negotiation. Excellent presentation, bid-writing, and proposal skills. Proficiency in using a CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage pipelines and partnerships. Ability to travel regularly across Hillingdon and West London. Must possess an enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one) and have the right to work in the UK. An existing professional network within the Hillingdon, Ealing, Hounslow, Harrow, Brent, and Hammersmith & Fulham areas. Experience in successfully launching a new education service or provision. Familiarity with school MIS systems, educational impact tools, and/or ESOL/new-to-English support.
