Our client is seeking a motivated and reliable Delivery, Installation and Case Build Engineer to join their team.
Role Summary
You will be responsible for the safe delivery, installation, and efficient assembly and customisation of refrigerated display cases. Based at a warehousing facility in Northamptonshire, you will spend a significant portion of your time travelling to customer sites to carry out installations. This is a full-time position, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and overnight work required to meet installation schedules or customer deadlines. The role involves a standard 40-hour working week. Overnight stays will be necessary when working at remote locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load display cases onto vehicles (up to 7.5 tonnes) using forklifts and appropriate manual handling techniques.
- Transport and deliver display cases to client sites using a vehicle under 7.5 tonnes, holding a valid Category C1 licence.
- Conduct accurate, high-quality installations in accordance with company procedures, site requirements, and industry best practises.
- Fit accessories, trims, and peripheral components to complete installations to specification.
- Identify, resolve, and document any on-site quality or technical issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain clear and accurate records relating to cabinet builds, installations, and site activities.
- Comply fully with all company health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as any client-specific requirements.
- Assemble, configure, and prepare refrigerated display cabinets for installation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of installation and build processes through constructive feedback and collaboration with operations and engineering teams.
- Represent the company professionally at all times, upholding its reputation for service quality and reliability.
- Support on-site snagging, additional deliveries, or service visits as required.
- Assist with broader manufacturing or operational projects, especially during off-peak periods.
Skills & Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum of five years' practical experience in a similar installation, construction, or engineering role.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings and operating procedures accurately.
- Physically fit, capable of manual handling and able to pass a medical for a C1 licence.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home, typically averaging two nights per week.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends as required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated team player who can also work independently.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Commitment to undertake relevant training programmes.
Desirable:
- Category C1 licence and CPC qualifications.
- CITB Site Safety qualification.
- Training in Asbestos Awareness, Working at Heights, Manual Handling, or First Aid at Work.
- Background in refrigeration and/or electrical systems.
- Forklift licence.
