The Role
As Financial Controller, you’ll lead the financial management of the business — providing clarity, control and commercial insight at leadership level. You’ll work closely with the Director and leadership team, ensuring compliance, profitability and long‑term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support long‑term goals
- Shape and implement financial policies, procedures and controls
- Ensure the business operates efficiently, responsibly and compliantly
- Support leadership with financial insight and performance analysis
- Budgeting, Reporting & Governance
- Prepare and manage the annual operating budget
- Report quarterly on performance against budget, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Monitor debtors quarterly and ensure proactive credit control
- Oversee preparation of annual accounts in line with statutory requirements
- Ensure all financial and legal obligations are met
- Cash Flow & Financial Operations
- Manage bank accounts and oversee all payments, including payroll
- Optimise cash flow and ensure financial accuracy
- Maintain effective systems, policies and financial processes
- Procure, negotiate and monitor external contracts and services to ensure value for money
- Commercial Partnership
- Provide financial advice to project teams to support profitability
- Liaise regularly with the Director and leadership team on budgets, compliance and strategy
- Contribute to commercial decision‑making across the business
