Social Media Manager: hands-on B2B social at an award-winning comms agency where social works alongside PR, SEO and content.

Location - London or Leeds (hybrid)

Salary - £32,000 – £40,000 (depending on experience and location)

Type - Permanent

About the role

We're working with an award-winning, fast-growing B2B communications agency whose clients span technology, business services and social impact. They're looking for a hands-on Social Media Manager who loves making content – writing it, designing it, filming it and coming up with the ideas behind it. You'll look after social for a portfolio of B2B clients, taking the lead whilst reporting to the Senior Social Media Consultant and working alongside PR, SEO and content specialists. Social is part of the bigger picture rather than a standalone channel. Every client has a different voice and audience, so you'll need to move between them with ease and make each one sound like themselves. It's a chance to own content from first idea to published post, and to make B2B social genuinely worth stopping for. You'll be trusted to run your accounts independently, with the Senior Social Media Consultant on hand for guidance and development rather than day‑time sign‑off.

What you'll do

  • Write on‑brand copy for a range of B2B clients, adapting tone for different sectors, audiences and platforms – from thought‑leadership and campaign content to drafting posts for client leaders
  • Create social assets including graphics, carousels and short‑form video, using Canva and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Film and edit video, from client interviews, events and office shoots to quick‑turn clips, ready for each platform
  • Come up with fresh content ideas informed by audience insight, industry trends and cultural moments, and share them with the team and clients
  • Plan, schedule and publish content calendars across LinkedIn, Facebook and other relevant platforms
  • Manage LinkedIn company pages and support executive profiles, building reach and engagement with senior B2B audiences
  • Monitor conversations and manage community engagement in each client's voice
  • Track and report on performance using native analytics, turning results into clear takeaways and next steps
  • Get to know each client's business and audience, and use that to spot content opportunities
  • Be a responsive, reliable day‑to‑day contact for clients: answering queries promptly, turning work around quickly and keeping them updated
  • Work closely with PR, SEO, content and design colleagues so social joins up with wider campaigns
  • Support on social ads where relevant, with training provided if you're new to paid
  • Contribute ideas and content to the agency's own social channels

What you'll bring to the table

Experience & background

  • 2 – 4 years managing social media and creating content, in‑house or agency, ideally B2B
  • Strong working knowledge of LinkedIn: company pages, personal profiles, content formats, analytics and what makes B2B content perform
  • Sharp copywriting, with a portfolio showing range of tone and voice across different brands
  • Hands‑on experience creating visual assets and editing video. You can shoot, edit and finish content to a high standard
  • Confident sharing ideas with colleagues and clients off your own back
  • Organised enough to juggle multiple clients and deadlines, and adapt at short notice
  • Able to explain what the numbers mean in language clients understand
  • Experience using Canva for animated content

Mindset & approach

  • A content maker at heart. As comfortable with a camera and a blank page as with a content calendar
  • Client‑friendly: responsive, dependable and happy to pick up the phone as well as the brief
  • You love a brainstorm and aren't afraid to try something new or make decisions
  • You spot trends early, and know when to jump on them and when not to
  • You care about craft and detail, but know how to keep things moving

Bonus points

  • Experience managing Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or other platforms for business audiences
  • Experience with social ads, social listening or scheduling tools
  • An understanding of how social supports PR, SEO and visibility in AI‑powered search
  • Interest in technology, business services or social impact organisations
