Senior PPC Specialist / PPC Manager (at a fast-growing fashion ecommerce company in Leeds)

Leeds Full-Time On-site
G

Senior PPC Specialist/PPC Manager: Google and Meta, owned end to end (plus some affiliate work), as the first Paid hire at a fast-growing fashion ecommerce brand.

Location - Leeds (Hunslet) / Hybrid, minimum 2 days a week in the office

Salary - £35,000 – £40,000 DOE

Type - Permanent

About the role

We're working with a Leeds-based fashion ecommerce business that started life on market stalls and has grown fast ever since. Their success is down to fantastic product ranges and a strong company culture.

The numbers back it up: a seven-figure Black Friday, ambitious growth targets for this year and recurring revenue up as much as 50% year on year in strong months. All with a lean team of around 15.

The marketing team has been built from scratch this year: a developer, a Social Media Manager and a Creative Exec, led by the Head of Digital. Now they're bringing paid media in-house, and this is the hire that makes it happen.

You'll own Google and Meta as a joined-up system and lend a hand on affiliates too. You're in the accounts every day, building, testing, cutting waste and proving what actually drives sales.

You’re not expected to come in and know it all from day one – attitude and proactivity are key to this team as much as the technical knowledge.

The twist that makes it a truly interesting puzzle: because the stock is debranded, you can't use brand names in your ads. So you can't lean on someone else's brand equity. You have to win on product, price, creative and smart targeting.

Incrementality matters here. The business wants to know what paid is really adding, not what the platform claims. Expect to strip out wasted brand-bidding spend and back every pound with evidence.

What you'll do

  • Own paid search and paid social end to end: build, launch, pace, optimise and report
  • Run Google Ads (Search, Shopping, PMax) and Meta hands-on, every day
  • Lead the move of paid in-house: audit what's running, keep what works, rebuild what doesn't
  • Strip out wasted brand-bidding spend and test what paid is genuinely adding to sales
  • Write ads and briefs that sell debranded product with no brand names to lean on
  • Support the affiliate programme where it's needed, from partner check-ins to keeping discount codes in line
  • Work side by side with the developer, social media manager and creative exec, feeding learnings straight into the next assets
  • Report clearly to the Head of Marketing and the founders: what we spent, what it really drove, what's next
  • Plan and deliver peak trading, with Black Friday the biggest moment of the year
  • Jump into the bigger projects too, like the AI-led email and CRM build currently in motion

What you'll bring to the table

Experience & background

  • 2–3+ years hands-on in paid media, ideally at an agency or a B2C brand with real breadth of clients, now ready to go in-house and own it
  • B2C retail or ecommerce experience. Fashion is a bonus, not a must (B2B and SaaS backgrounds won't be the right fit here)
  • Strong across Google Ads (Search, Shopping, PMax) and Meta, building and optimising yourself
  • A good grasp of incrementality and where brand-bidding spend gets wasted
  • Comfortable managing budgets in a high-churn, fast-moving catalogue

Mindset & approach

  • Spark over polish. You can think on your feet and explain your decisions under questioning
  • Initiative. You spot what needs doing and get on with it
  • Curious beyond the standard setup. PMax on autopilot isn't your idea of a strategy
  • Happy to roll your sleeves up on random projects, from tracking fixes to AI-led CRM builds
  • A team player who wants to be part of a small, ambitious crew in the office

Bonus points

  • Fashion or clothing ecommerce experience (women's fashion an extra bonus)
  • Any affiliate marketing experience (or an appetite to pick it up)
  • Experience running incrementality tests
  • Hands-on with AI tools, or keen to get stuck into projects like an AI-led CRM build
  • Experience running peak trading such as Black Friday

What great looks like at 90 days

You own Google and Meta day to day, fully in-house

Wasted brand spend is cut and you can show what paid is really adding

Peak trading is planned and built

Why join?

Own the paid function outright: your accounts, your decisions

A brilliant product to market: big-name quality at a fraction of the price

A business growing fast, with founders who move quickly and back good ideas

Room to experiment, including AI-led projects across email and CRM

A small in-house team (dev, social, creative) right next to you, so ideas ship fast

Another hire is likely as the business grows, so there's room to build something

This isn't for you if

You'd rather design the architecture and leave the hands-on ad work to someone else

Your background is B2B or SaaS rather than consumer ecommerce

You'd rather work fully remote. Company culture is important

The process

  1. A 20-minute intro chat with the Head of Marketing
  2. A practical second stage: you screen-share live account data and talk through what you see

They're hiring as soon as they find the right person, so don't wait on this one.
