How you’ll make a difference

Are you confident, able to build rapport/relationships quickly and ready to make a real difference? Would you like to develop your verbal and written communication skills? This is the role for you.

We’d like you to offer your time to help GOSH Charity Special Events team secure a range of exciting prizes for their events, from holidays, tickets to events and luxury items, you could help to raise vital funds to support seriously ill children through securing prizes for live and silent auctions.

What’s involved?

  • Researching and creating a list of companies and individuals to approach who could donate prizes to GOSH Charity events.
  • Contacting potential donors over email, phone or even in-person.
  • Collecting key information on prizes, including descriptions, terms and conditions and expiry dates.
  • Arranging and coordinating the delivery of prizes and prize vouchers to ensure they are ready to be sold at GOSH Charity events.

What time should you offer?

We are open to offers from those wishing to help from half a day to two days a week over several months as well as people happy to help daily for a few weeks. We are flexible and happy to discuss the time to be offered with the individual(s).

Where will you be based?

You have the option of being home based or being based in our central London office (Bernard Street WC1N 1LE). We would like you to come into the office for your first day(s) so you can meet the team.

Training and support

  • Ongoing dedicated support from the Event Project team consisting of a Senior Event Manager, Event Manager and Event Coordinator.
  • Examples of previous prizes secured for events and email and phone call templates to guide you when making prize asks.
  • Volunteer Handbook and Volunteering Policy.
  • Online training on how to keep and store data safely and office health and safety.
  • Guidance on Treating People Fairly and how we Accept and Refuse donations – access to these policies.
  • Updates on how your support is making a difference.

What we are looking for

  • Able to confidently and respectfully approach companies to donate prizes to our events, over email, phone and in-person.
  • Personable attitude and communication to donors and would-be donors.
  • A can-do attitude toward securing amazing prizes!
  • Ability to follow our policies and procedures to keep you, our staff and volunteers, our patients and our supporters safe.
  • Ability to represent GOSH Charity and our values positively.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of appropriate companies to make approaches to.
