An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Sixth Form Tutor Team.

Duties will include having tutorial/mentoring responsibilities for Post 16 Students.

They will monitor attendance and progress, deliver tutorials and pastoral care, support students with their UCAS or other destination applications and help them to succeed.

They will be involved in the disciplinary and intervention strategies implemented by the team.

The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate an interest in young people and feel empathy with their needs and concerns.

They will communicate effectively and sensitively with students to support their learning, promoting inclusion and acceptance of all students in our Sixth Form.

They will also support the work of the Post 16 Management Team.

  • Ability to relate well to children and adults and in particular able to establish positive relationships with pupils
  • A clear understanding of pastoral, progression and safeguarding
  • Ability to organise, lead and motivate students and to work constructively as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues
  • Excellent ICT skills and the proven ability to use them effectively to support learning
  • Ability to respond positively and effectively to unexpected problems and situations
  • A working knowledge of Post 16 issues, progression routes Post 18.
