We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated dispenser who is passionate about providing high quality dispensing of medication to join our cohesive and supportive team.
Main duties of the job:
- Maintaining stock levels and ensuring all medicines are stored in an appropriate manner
- Preparing repeat prescriptions, in an efficient and accurate manner
- Handing prescriptions out to patients following Standard Operating Procedures
- Handling patient requests face-to-face and by telephone
- Endorsing prescription forms as appropriate ready for processing and reimbursement from the NHS Prescription Services
- Dispensing weekly trays alongside our dispensing robot

Job responsibilities:
The successful applicant will work as part of our dispensing team to support the safe and efficient delivery of dispensing services within a busy rural GP dispensing practice. The role involves assisting with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, maintaining accurate stock control, supporting repeat prescription processes, and ensuring all dispensing activities are carried out in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and NHS regulations. The post holder will provide a professional and friendly service to patients, handling prescription queries both face-to-face and over the telephone, while working closely with GPs, clinicians, and the wider practice team. The role also includes supporting the preparation of weekly medication trays and working alongside the practice dispensing robot to ensure an efficient workflow.
The ideal candidate will be organised, accurate, able to work well under pressure, and committed to delivering high standards of patient care and confidentiality at all times.
