Gorringe Park PrimarySchool is seeking a dedicated and committed Assistant SENCo to join our strong, established inclusion team.This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional who is eager todevelop or use their existing SEN leadership experience within a supportive andcollaborative environment.
About the Role
This is a 2 day per week Assistant SENCo position,with responsibility for supporting the strategic and operational delivery ofSEND provision across the school. The successful candidate will work closelywith our Deputy Headteacher forInclusion, ensuring high-quality provision and outcomes for pupils withadditional needs.
Importantly, this role isnot an isolated post. You will be joining a well-established inclusion team, benefiting from clear leadership,shared responsibility, and strong professional support.
The role is primarilynon-class based and focused on SEND leadership and provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Support theDeputy Headteacher for Inclusion in the leadership and development of SENDprovision
- Contribute to the identification, assessment,and monitoring of pupils with SEND
- Work collaboratively with class teachers,support staff, external agencies, and families
- Help ensure statutory SEND processes anddocumentation are completed to a high standard
- Promote inclusive practice and highexpectations for all pupils
- Occasionally provide classroom teachingcover, as required
We are looking for someone who
- Has experienceworking with pupils with SEND in a primary setting
- Is passionate about inclusive education andimproving outcomes for all learners
- Works well as part of a team and valuescollaboration
- Has strong organisational and communicationskills
- Is eager to develop further SEN leadershipexperience or bring their experience to the team
