We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the role of Cook in our Care Home. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking breakfast & lunch, and ensuring high standards of food safety and presentation. Prior experience in a Care home kitchen is preferred but not essential, as guidance will be provided. This paid role is ideal for someone passionate about food and eager to enrich our residents' well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support the team in meal preparation and presentation to ensure quality and consistency
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Follow all health and safety guidelines during food handling and preparation
- Help with stock rotation, weekly food ordering & re-stocking, SFBB paperwork
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to residents' dietary requirements
