Goring Care Homes is a small, family-run group that believes great care starts with looking after the people who give it. Lyndhurst is our cosy 20-bed residential home in Goring, Reading and sits under the wing of our larger sister site, The Grange.
Step-up opportunity – ideal for an experienced Unit Manager or Deputy who wants the freedom to run a home day-to-day before taking on full registered responsibility in the future.
- Leading Lyndhurst’s daily operations – staffing, rotas, resident experience, and that “home-from-home” atmosphere we’re known for.
- Inspiring and developing a small team (around 25 colleagues) so they can give genuinely person-centred care.
- Keep Lyndhurst’s social media pages fresh and welcoming.
- Work with our Head Chef: menu planning, nutrition oversight and ordering the food shop.
- Maintain our great links with the local GP surgery, district nurses and care-home support team.
- Working hand-in-hand with the Registered Manager at The Grange on audits, improvement plans and compliance checks.
- Building warm relationships with residents’ families, local professionals and the wider community.
Current Unit Manager, Senior Nurse or Team Leader with solid people-management experience. Up-to-date knowledge of CQC standards (you won’t be the registered manager yet, but you’ll help keep us inspection-ready). Ambition to become a Registered Manager in the next 1-2 years – we’ll help you get there. Nursing pin is welcome but not essential – the role focuses on leadership and service quality.
