I’m currently working with a number of boutique children’s residential care providers across the North West who are looking for experienced Registered Managers to lead solo, dual and small EBD homes. These are roles across Preston, Blackburn, Bolton, Rochdale and surrounding areas, with salary packages ranging from £50,000 to £70,000, depending on the home, provider, registration type and experience. The common thread? These are not “left to it” roles. The opportunities include established homes, senior leadership support, RI involvement, settled staff teams and providers who understand what good children’s residential care actually takes.

What You’ll Be Expected To Do:

  • You’ll lead the home with calm, consistency and clear standards, making sure children feel safe, staff feel supported and the service remains Ofsted-ready.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing the staff team.
  • Maintaining safeguarding, compliance and quality standards.
  • Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, audits and records.
  • Building strong relationships with placing authorities and professionals.
  • Creating a warm, structured and child-focused home environment.
  • Supporting therapeutic, trauma-informed and reflective practice.
  • Driving improvement without losing sight of the children at the centre of the service.

What You’ll Need:

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager in children’s residential care.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted, safeguarding, Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Confidence leading teams and making sound decisions.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or working towards it.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
