Mondays & Fridays | Fully Private | 12-Month Maternity Cover | Potential Permanent Opportunity

A well-established, fully private dental practice in Plymouth is looking for a Private Dentist to join the team for a 12-month maternity cover, taking over an established patient list from the Practice Owner.

You’ll be stepping directly into the Owner’s established book, with patients who have been attending the practice for several years.

There is also potential for the position to develop into a permanent opportunity as the practice explores expanding its surgery capacity.

What’s on offer

  • Mondays and Fridays
  • 12-month maternity cover
  • Ideally starting
  • December 2026
  • Mid-November start potentially available
  • Fully private, established patient list
  • Potential for the role to become permanent as the practice expands
  • Scope for occasional additional days to provide holiday cover
  • Established clinical and nursing support
  • Opportunity to utilise oral surgery and surgical extraction skills
  • Modern, independent practice environment
  • About the practice

This is an established three-surgery, fully private practice in Plymouth with a loyal patient base and a friendly, personal approach to dentistry.

The practice offers

  • Digital X-rays
  • Rotary endodontics
  • Modern general dentistry equipment
  • Dedicated dental nurse support
  • Dental hygienist and therapist support
  • Established private patients
  • A supportive and approachable team environment
  • Who we're looking for
  • GDC-registered Dentist
  • Comfortable providing general private dentistry
  • Ideally able to work both Mondays and Fridays
  • A warm, friendly and approachable manner
  • Confident communicating with established private patients
  • Clinically competent and comfortable managing your own patient book
  • Ideally a few years of post-qualification experience, although less experienced dentists will also be considered
  • Oral surgery or surgical extraction experience would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Someone genuinely interested in the 12-month maternity period, while being open to a potential longer-term opportunity

The practice would ideally like someone with enough experience to confidently take over an established private book, but they understand the specific nature of the role and are open to considering dentists at different stages of their career.

If you're looking for a two-day-a-week private position with an established patient base, rather than having to build a book from scratch, this could be an excellent opportunity.
