About the Role
As the Resource Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic scheduling and allocation of staff resources across a variety of external and internal projects. Your key focus will be ensuring the efficient use of staff while maintaining balance and avoiding overload. You will work closely with project managers, programme leads, and team heads to anticipate and meet resource requirements, all while maintaining robust oversight of budgets and timesheets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically contract and schedule resources to support successful project delivery.
- Work closely with teams to forecast and allocate resources effectively.
- Ensure accurate completion of timesheets and monitor project budgets, making necessary adjustments.
- Use advanced Excel skills to compile reports and analyse data for strategic decision-making.
- Maintain and enhance resource planning processes within the organisation.
- Provide insights on resource utilisation and future demands.
- Act as the primary contact for resource management queries, escalating where needed.
- Support training and induction of new staff in the organisation’s resource system.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in strategy, project delivery, and data analysis.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in resource planning, scheduling, and project coordination in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to use resourcing software and professional services automation tools.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF ERROR, data analysis & reporting).
- Experience compiling reports, process documentation, and financial tracking.
- A sharp analytical mind with the ability to interpret data and advise on resource allocation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills – able to liaise confidently across all levels.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively.
Desirable:
- Experience using Business Central and/or Progressus.
- Familiarity with project finance, budget tracking, and forecasting.
