Role Overview

We are looking for two Counterbalance Forklift Drivers to support our operations by efficiently handling, transporting, and loading timber products. The successful candidate(s) will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials within our site, adhering to safety standards, and contributing to our overall productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a counterbalance forklift to transport timber and other materials safely and efficiently within the sawmill premises.
  • Load and unload deliveries, ensuring accuracy and care to prevent damage.
  • Organise and maintain stock in designated areas for easy access and inventory control.
  • Conduct daily checks of the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, reporting any concerns to the management team.
  • Assist in general yard duties when required to support the team.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in operating a counterbalance forklift in a similar environment.
  • An in-date forklift certificate from a recognised body (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR, or equivalent).

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a timber or sawmill environment.

Training and Development

While relevant experience is essential, training can be provided for candidates with transferable skills or experience in similar roles.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
