In our Design Studio, we craft interiors for some of the world’s most exclusive cars—every detail thoughtfully designed and executed. In this role, you’ll work across Gordon Murray Automotive and the newly launched Gordon Murray Special Vehicles division, creating interiors that set new standards in automotive design. As Senior Interior Designer, you’ll work within a small, focused production design team, taking responsibility for developing interiors for future Gordon Murray products. This role demands creativity, precision, and technical expertise—an opportunity to guide projects from concept through to production on some of the most exclusive cars in the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of engaging, innovative 2D and 3D interior design proposals.
- Direct the development of 3D data with our expert digital surfacing team.
- Collaborate with engineers and suppliers to deliver production-feasible interiors.
- Champion and evolve our lightweight design ethos.
- Drive timely completion of all design work in line with project milestones and gateways.
- Mentor and support designers within the studio.
- Represent interior design in program and engineering reviews.
- Communicate progress and critical issues to line manager.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience delivering production vehicle interiors (sports cars preferred).
- BA or MA in Automotive/Vehicle Design or Industrial Design.
- Exceptional ability to translate concepts seamlessly from 2D to 3D.
- Self-driven, hands-on, and willing to support beyond your remit.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high-quality design approach.
- Strong project planning and management skills.
