We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant to work alongside the Group Financial Controller and other finance managers, ensuring the Group’s financial compliance and the integrity of our reporting. This is more than maintaining ledgers, it’s about providing insight, ownership, and governance that enables the business to grow and perform at its best.
The Role
- You will be responsible for leading key financial processes and ensuring the accuracy of the Group’s reporting.
- Working closely with senior management and finance colleagues, you will own critical areas of the finance function, drive compliance, and support strategic initiatives.
- Take ownership of the Group’s general ledgers and financial reporting processes.
- Lead month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and monthly consolidation.
- Prepare, review, and approve all journals posted to the general ledger.
- Support the annual budgeting process by collaborating with finance managers and business units.
- Prepare and submit the Group’s VAT returns.
- Lead the audit and corporation tax process, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Oversee R&D and Patent Box claims.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects supporting the Group’s expansion.
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts and lead quarterly grant submissions and audits.
About You
- You’ll be a qualified accountant with hands-on experience in financial reporting, audit, or professional services.
- You’ll be organised, resourceful, and confident challenging processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- You’ll communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders and thrive as part of a collaborative finance team.
- ACA / ACCA qualified.
- Audit or professional services experience preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable owning complex processes and challenging existing ways of working.
- Clear communicator, collaborative, and a team player.
- Ambitious, self-directing, and passionate about delivering results.
