- Work with suppliers on manufacturability and delivery to cost, quality, and timing targets.
- Define and manage critical and significant characteristics within supplier processes.
- Support and approve PPAP and review FAIR documentation prior to shipment.
- Develop and manage Part Quality Plans (PQP) alongside engineering teams.
- Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments to ISO9001 / IATF16949 standards.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D and SCAR methodologies.
- Support and sign-off engineering change management activities.
- Monitor and report supplier KPIs including PPM performance.
- Ensure supplier concerns are resolved in agreed timescales to maintain build.
- Act as the on-site quality presence at suppliers when required.
About You
- You are a proactive quality professional who thrives working directly with suppliers and engineers to solve problems before they reach production.
- You combine technical understanding with strong communication skills and are comfortable challenging processes to achieve the right outcome.
- External auditor experience (ISO9001 / IATF16949 or equivalent).
- Experience within engineering or technology industries.
- APQP or similar quality integration in new product introduction.
- Lean Six Sigma mindset (Green Belt or equivalent understanding preferred).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Understanding of metrology techniques and equipment.
- Clear communicator, organised, and self-directing.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
- Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience operating as a stand-alone SQE.
- Advanced Excel or data analysis capability (Python beneficial).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes in structures, body, composites, or finishing.
- Exposure to automotive, aerospace, or high-performance technology sectors.
