Founded in 1895, Gordon & Mac Phail is a luxury spirits company owned by a fourth generation of family members and situated in Elgin, Scotland.

The company, which is well-known for its expertise in the ageing of Scotch whisky, also owns the distilleries of Benromach, which is located outside of Forres, and The Cairn, which is close to Grantown-on-Spey.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Support Accountant to join the Finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Financial Reporting Manager in the reviewing of the general ledger, managing the Sales Ledger Function and preparing the monthly management accounts to trial balance stage.

Preferable Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Hold a relevant Finance related qualification (AAT or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes and financial record management
  • Experience in preparation of management accounts.
  • Have credit control/debt collection experience
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
  • Experience of using computerised accounting systems i. e SAP, SAGE, IFS
  • Experience of data input, data review and best in class data controls.
  • Overall understanding of finance processes (credit control, Accounts payable & receivable, expenses) within a business environment is essential.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Good attention to detail and analytical skills.
