Goonvean Fibres is a leading UK manufacturer of fibres, flocks and powders.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to lead and manage manufacturing operations on the shop floor.

This role is responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while driving continuous improvement and supporting the development of the production team.

Key responsibilities, skills and experience

  • Plan, organise and oversee daily production activities to meet output targets.
  • Monitor workflow, ensuring efficient use of labour, materials and equipment.
  • Ensure production schedules are followed and deadlines are achieved.
  • Minimise downtime by coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Supervise, motivate and develop a team of production operatives.
  • Conduct training, onboarding and performance reviews.
  • Ensure products meet company and customer quality standards.
  • Promote a right first time culture and support corrective actions where required.
  • Enforce health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Conduct safety checks, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators including output, downtime, efficiency and quality.
  • Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery and continuous improvement techniques.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH or NVQ qualifications in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline would be advantageous.
