Senior Embedded Software Engineer, Pixel Phone Security

b Overview /b p In this role you will strengthen Pixel security through hardened embedded software and new security features for current and future devices. You’ll work on next-generation security designs within the Platforms and Devices team, collaborating across disciplines to improve testing and CI infrastructure. You will develop technical solutions that mitigate vulnerabilities, helping to secure billions of users and their devices. This position offers the chance to influence hardware-software security at scale and contribute to Google’s security-first platform initiatives. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Harden embedded system software components critical to Pixel security /li li Develop embedded security software features for Pixel devices /li li Improve testing and CI infrastructures /li li Develop solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience /li li 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages /li li 3 years of experience with embedded operating systems /li li Experience in embedded software/firmware design, device driver development, and RTOS/embedded OS environments /li li Experience in low-level systems programming languages (C/C++) /li li Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field (preferred) /li li 1 year of technical leadership experience (preferred) /li li Experience in embedded security design and development and/or cryptography or malware analysis (preferred) /li li Experience with open source development (preferred) /li /ul ul li versatility /li li leadership abilities /li li collaboration /li li embedded OS/RTOS /li li embedded software/firmware design /li li device driver development /li /ul
