You will lead the evolution of our OS-level entry points (e.g. the Android Quick Search Box) transitioning them from isolated utilities into a single, cohesive access system. You will ensure our features feel like flawless, visually rich extensions of the Android launcher itself, rather than a layered third-party app. Partnering closely with Product, UX, and cross-functional teams, your technical leadership will weave Search directly into the fabric of Android. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. ~8 years of experience in software development. ~5 years of experience testing, and launching software products. ~5 years of experience with Android application development. ~3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. ~8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. ~3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. ~3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. ~ Experience with modern Android development: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Material Design.
