The Global Submarine Networks (GSN) Operations organization is the missionācritical engine responsible for the reliability, scalability, and performance of Google's subsea infrastructure. As a newly evolving entity, GSN Operations bridges the gap between massiveāscale infrastructure engineering and the delivery of highāavailability international connectivity services to Global Production and carrier customers. Our mission is to manage the transition from 'Build to Operate' with uncompromising excellence, integrating complex optical transport technologies with modern, softwareādefined IT service management (ITSM) principles.
In this role, you will be the foundational architect for how GSN moves from infrastructure construction to exceptional service delivery and management operating models. You will design the buildātoāoperate and serviceātoāhandover frameworks, ensuring that as new subsea cable systems reach commercial acceptance, they are seamlessly integrated into a governed, compliant, and customerācentric operational model. You will require a hybrid expertise in Telecommunications (Subsea/Optical) and IT Service Management (ITIL/Enterprise IT).

Responsibilities
- Design and deliver optimized program communication plans including executive and key partner communications.
- Determine phasing and metrics associated with program lifecycle that effectively address continuous improvement including resource stewardship, and near and longāterm objectives.
- Lead the design and implementation of regional buildātoāoperate and serviceātoāhandover business processes.
- Participate in new cable system deployments to ensure all operational, telemetry, and maintenance requirements are met before commercial launch.
- Act as the executive technical point of contact for tierā1 carrier customers, bridging the gap between their engineering teams and the network operations teams.
- Oversee the endātoāend service journey, from initial customer onboarding and activation to capacity upgrades and decommissioning.
- Partner with Sales to provide technical validation and solutioning for international connectivity products.
- Lead regional governance cadences to oversee network changes, maintenance, and risk mitigation.
