The Extended Workforce Investigations (xWI) team is a dedicated pillar of Google's broader Employee Relations organisation, which sits within People Operations. Our team's mission is to uphold Google's values and ensure a work environment that is fair, productive, and compliant for our vast global extended workforce. We are a forward-thinking group of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who operate with integrity and empathy. The xWI team manages investigations and grievance resolutions related to violations of Google's Extended Workforce policies, the Google Code of Conduct, and the Google Supplier Code of Conduct. In partnership with stakeholders across Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS), Employment Legal and other investigative teams, we strive to mitigate enterprise risk while supporting the fair treatment and compliance framework that guides our critical extended workforce. As an investigator on the Extended Workforce Investigations (xWI) team, you will be part of a central team that ensures a fair, objective and thorough investigation process for labour and HR compliance matters which involve Google's extended workforce or their suppliers. This is done by working in conjunction with our stakeholders such as Suppliers' HR, People Consultants, Employee Relations Partners, Security Investigations and Assessments, Regulatory Affairs and Employment Legal. Using your knowledge of applicable employment laws as well as our policies and practices, you will devise, follow and advise on appropriate protocol for HR issues and investigations involving Google's extended workforce and develop appropriate investigation documentation and recommendations for management.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and timely investigations and grievance resolution for violations of Google's HR and extended workforce policies, Google's code of conduct and Google's Supplier Code of Conduct.
- Prepare, track and maintain appropriate investigation data and documentation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with our partners in Employment Legal, Employee Relations and Regulatory Affairs and Security Investigations and Assessments.
- Provide risk insights/trends to Product Areas and Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) to support their risk mitigation efforts.
- Anticipate and elevate high-risk issues or supplier non-compliance to Product Areas and central functions like Procurement, xWS and Employment Legal.
