This role requires travel to a DC site up to 5 days a week. Note: Google's hybrid workplace includes remote roles. Remote location: United Kingdom.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience working within mission critical greenfield construction projects.
  • 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data centers, cloud operations, facilities management, engineering and construction.
  • Ability to travel at least 30% of the time.

As a part of the Data Center Delivery and Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering the technical infrastructure that powers Google globally, operating as an integrated team who are passionate, enjoy their work, and take care of each another.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of detailed, localized designs, leveraged from the programmatic design 'Plan of Record.'
  • Lead growth plans with direct involvement in recruiting talent, research and implement new construction means, carrying design concepts into mass production and integrate into facilities.
  • Oversee a site-wide data center construction and delivery organization as a single point of accountability and oversight for major new construction projects and capital improvement projects.
  • Direct a team of project managers and engineers, driving the identification, selection, and onboarding of new regional contractors and vendors, build a culture of collaboration, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive procurement, construction, commissioning, closeout, and meet safety, cost, schedule, and quality goals and established customer requirements.
