Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience designing across multiple platforms, and working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications

  • Master\’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of Design and Prototyping experience.
  • Experience in UI development on Android platform and iOS.
  • Familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile (Android and iOS).
  • Ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features within a user-centered design process.
  • Ability to work with front-end engineering teams for native app user interfaces.

As an Interaction Designer, you’ll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution. Like all of our UX jobs, you’ll collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

We are looking for a talented UX Designer to join our team and help us build the best user experience for Google mobile applications, focusing primarily on Android OS. We have an opportunity to design for billions of daily users. The team creates an App experience that Google has to offer. In Google Search, we\’re reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. In joining the Search team, you\’ll have an opportunity to make an impact on billions of people globally.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
  • Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high fidelity prototypes.
  • Test concepts for iteration, research, and validation. Conceive and deliver innovative and engaging prototypes. Drive explorations of experiences across a portfolio of features and products in the app.
  • Identify emerging needs, develop interaction design best practices, and contribute to pattern documentation.
  • Lead or contribute to key projects, ensuring a holistic systems-thinking approach and advocating for user needs across platforms and applications.
