The UK Sovereign Operations team in Google Public Sector delivers, operates, and secures private cloud services. Our goal is to provide the flexibility, reliability, and scalability of public cloud for customers with high security requirements that can only be met in a private cloud environment. We deploy and operate these private cloud solutions for critical clients, working closely with Google product teams to enhance our technology.
As a Network Operations Engineer, you will be part of a team deploying and managing private cloud services and networks for critical UK clients. Your responsibilities include designing and maintaining reliable, resilient networks, automating changes, monitoring systems, and managing core network components. Your work involves both traditional and software-defined networking in a Kubernetes environment. You will collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering peers, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and ensure continuous operation of services. You will also participate in an on-call rotation for incident resolution.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of private/secure networks from design to deployment and operation.
- Support engineering and operations teams in building integrated, automated network solutions.
- Collaborate across teams to design, develop, and validate new network and hardware solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance for customer environments, including cross-product integration feasibility.
