We are looking for an innovative Comms & MarTech Specialist who can serve as the primary technical builder for our team. The main purpose of this role is to champion innovation by building and using insights‑led, AI‑powered tools that improve impact and efficiency. You will act as the architect of our continuous intelligence systems, bridging the gap between strategy and technical execution.
About Us
Artificial intelligence will be one of humanity’s most transformative inventions. At Google DeepMind, we are a pioneering AI lab with world‑class interdisciplinary teams focused on advancing AI development to solve complex global challenges and accelerate high‑quality product innovation for billions of users. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, ensuring safety and ethics are always our highest priority. We are pushing the boundaries across multiple domains. Our global teams offer diverse learning opportunities and varied career pathways for those driven to achieve exceptional results through collective effort.
The Role
This role sits within the Insights & Innovation function within the Comms team to ensure that Google DeepMind has the right intelligence to support strategy and planning. As a Comms & MarTech Specialist reporting into the Insights and Innovation Lead, you will design and build the workflows that ensure the team maintains operational velocity and strategic depth during key moments. The insights function within the team is expanding and is fast‑paced, as demand for data driven decision‑making expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Architecture & Quality Assurance
- Knowledge Base Architecture: Architect and restructure the team’s knowledge management systems to create high‑quality, verified datasets.
- Taxonomy & Governance: Implement strict data taxonomy strategies.
- Internal Tooling & Automation
- Hub Development: Develop and deploy centralised internal portals.
- Workflow Automation: Configure AI agents for grounded search tasks and automate data flows between documents.
- Product Development & Analytics
- Rapid Prototyping: Design and build priority Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Strategic Synthesis: Apply a deep understanding of domain‑specific metrics to ensure tools deliver actionable, strategic synthesis.
- Strategic Intelligence & Growth Application
- Drive real‑time strategy by leveraging intelligence tools to detect emerging trends, serving as the bridge between technical data and business goals.
About You
You possess a blend of technical capability (Apps Script, API integration) and a deep understanding of media monitoring and landscape analysis. You understand that AI is only as good as the data it accesses. You are meticulous about data hygiene, taxonomy, and “grounding” strategies. Demonstrated experience in Prompt Engineering and optimizing System Instructions for LLMs (e.g. Gemini) to ensure high‑quality, tonally accurate outputs. You thrive on building practical solutions that solve immediate business problems, rather than over‑engineered custom apps. Experience using AI tools to support work efficiencies and optimisation. Strategic, analytical, and have strong communication skills, as well as being able to relay technical information/data/results. Extensive experience working with Google Analytics, Brandwatch (social listening), Google Search Console, YouTube Analytics, Looker Studio for reporting/dashboards. Strong numerical and analytical skills are crucial. Able to combine and interpret high volumes of data from multiple sources. Able to synthesise information from a variety of sources, add insightful commentary and translate data/trends into practical recommendations and stories to improve performance. Strong writing and storytelling skills are crucial; prior experience in marketing is useful. Excellent spoken, written and visual communications skills, including the ability to visualise data in simple, concise, clear and impactful ways. Strong project management skills and experience in creating insight dashboards (or potential to learn quickly). Commitment to learning about new insight tools. Confidence to work and collaborate with a range of stakeholders. Hands‑on social listening experience, audience analysis or data/statistical analysis, preferably with exposure to audience insights and social media research. You work well both independently and as part of a team. Strong ability to manage yourself and time, working effectively across multiple priorities.
