We're expanding - and we need a driven, proactive Vehicle Buyer who knows how to spot and close a deal!
Job Summary
We are looking for a commercially driven Vehicle Buyer & Social Media Executive to join our team in Macclesfield.
This is primarily a sales and lead conversion role, focused on purchasing problem vehicles from members of the public and other lead sources.
The vehicles we buy are predominantly vehicles with faults, damage or other issues - rather than clean retail stock - so the role is about understanding the vehicle, the customer’s situation and the likely resale value, then negotiating the right purchase price.
You will work incoming leads from National Car Buyers, Goodwins Auto Salvage and a growing number of partner channels, with one clear objective:
Turn good-quality enquiries into profitable vehicle purchases.
Around 80% of the role will focus on lead conversion, vehicle appraisal, negotiation and follow-up. The remaining 20% will focus on helping grow National Car Buyers through social media content across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
What you'll be doing
- Responding quickly to incoming vehicle leads
- Calling customers and understanding their vehicle and circumstances
- Valuing vehicles and negotiating purchase prices
- Following up leads consistently to maximise conversion
- Purchasing vehicles at commercially sensible values
- Managing your pipeline and keeping CRM records accurate
- Tracking vehicles through to resale and understanding the profit generated
- Creating regular social content around interesting vehicles, purchases and behind-the-scenes activity
- Helping develop the NCB presence across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
Requirements
- Previous motor trade buying, vehicle sales or automotive valuation experience preferred
- Strong sales, negotiation and lead conversion skills
- Confident dealing with customers by phone and following leads through to purchase
- Ability to assess problem vehicles, including condition, faults, damage and commercial risk
- Commercially minded and motivated by profit and uncapped commission
- Confident using TikTok, Instagram and Facebook for business
- Comfortable filming, appearing in and creating simple social media content
- Basic ability to edit short-form video/content, or willingness to learn
- Self-motivated, proactive and organised
- Full-time availability Monday to Friday
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong communication and people skills
Pay & Terms
Location: Macclesfield - office based
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Basic salary: £26,500 per year + uncapped commission
