We are seeking an HR Operations Manager on a 12 month FTC to cover an upcoming period of maternity leave in our Talent team. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced HR Operations professional looking to step up into a Manager role. This role is responsible for day-to-day management of the full life cycle of people transactions for the UK, Europe and Asia offices at Goodwin. In this role, you will oversee the worker transactions and operational administration to ensure successful and smooth onboarding and offboarding processes for all partners and employees.
What you will do:
- Provide guidance, direction and managerial oversight to the Europe and Asia HR Operations team regarding people. This may include direct reports, indirect reports or peers.
- Oversee the data integrity of all data in the HRIS system (currently Workday) including onboarding, off-boarding and life-cycle changes as well as regular auditing and maintenance.
- Own the Europe and Asia partner and employee onboarding and offboarding experiences in partnership with various stakeholders.
- Increase mastery of the entire HR team using and inputting information into the HRIS system. This includes identifying manual processes that can be automated using HRIS system or other internal systems.
- Responsible for developing efficiencies within processes, workflows and procedures related to the operational effectiveness of people transitions. Partner with Local HR Managers, Payroll, Benefits, IT and others to ensures continuity and successful delivery of operational services and exceptional customer service to clients.
- Oversee GDPR compliance for HR systems. This includes owning the HR Goodwin Data Inventory Register and partnering with appropriate teams to ensure the register is up to date and accurate.
- Manage background check process and vendor relationship(s).
- Manage time tracking upgrades and implementations across Europe and Asia.
- Make recommendations to the Director, HR Operations & People Analytics and work with peers to execute on strategic Human Resources initiatives.
- Ensure compliance and audit standards are being met related to the organization and management of personnel files.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Who you are:
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills, as well as strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and strong influence and negotiation skills required.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously.
- Innate integrity and excellent judgment and decision-making abilities required. The ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.Â
- A process improvement mindset is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant employment and privacy laws.
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Workday or similar HRIS system required.
- A minimum of five years of Human Resources experience, with at least two years of related operational experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience supervising people.
- Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
