About the Role

Join Goodwin’s Global Operations Team and make a global impact. We collaborate with leading investors, entrepreneurs, and disruptors across industries such as life sciences, private equity, real estate, technology, and finance. Our team fosters cross-functional learning, networking, and collaboration, supporting attorneys and clients with innovative solutions in litigation, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and complex transactions.

Responsibilities

  1. Create and analyze conflict reports to identify potential conflicts with legal hires, new business, and marketing initiatives. Conduct research and resolve conflicts independently.
  2. Communicate potential issues to Attorneys, assist in conflict resolution, and work with the Department Director and Ethics Advisory Committee.
  3. Guide Conflicts staff on research and analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  4. Contribute to training programs for Conflict Analysts and Specialists.
  5. Help Attorneys and Secretaries understand conflicts and business intake policies.
  6. Draft engagement and waiver letters as needed.
  7. Research jurisdictional conflict and ethical rules to determine resolution strategies.
  8. Maintain documentation for conflict issues and implement information barriers.
  9. Assist in software implementation for conflicts and business intake.
  10. Stay informed on trends and technology impacting conflicts management.
  11. Participate in on-call conflict checking coverage during weekends.

Qualifications

  • Law degree required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in law firm conflicts or new business departments preferred.
  • Experience with automated conflicts or workflow systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
  • Knowledge of conflict checking software such as IntApp is a plus.
