Overview

In this role, you support the growth of Goodwin's UK Private Equity Practice by coordinating client development and marketing activities. You work closely with partners and cross-functional teams to shape pitches, campaigns, and events that raise the practice’s profile. You will translate marketing plans into concrete actions, track progress, and help showcase the team’s experience through materials and digital content. This position offers exposure to senior lawyers, clients, and market intelligence in a collaborative, global environment with opportunities to contribute ideas and take ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Support key Client Development priorities for the Private Equity Industry group
  • Help shape pitches, RFPs and RFIs for new business and client meetings
  • Execute marketing campaigns and use results to identify new opportunities
  • Maintain and capture business development activity in firm systems
  • Keep deal credentials, matter records, and materials up to date
  • Ensure sharp, current practice storytelling across website, lists, case studies
  • Plan and deliver seminars, speaking engagements, sponsorships, and client events
  • Coordinate conferences and events, including logistics and attendee research
  • Collaborate with research/market intelligence to produce client/competitor insights
  • Monitor Private Equity market activity and convert insights into new business
  • Promote the team through rankings, surveys, and awards submissions
  • Work with lawyers and Communications to share expertise via website, social media, and updates

Key requirements

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Experience in client development, business development, sales or marketing in a law firm or professional services preferred but not essential
  • Strong relationship-building and social skills
  • Proactive, ownership mindset with idea generation
  • Curiosity and sound judgement about Private Equity and client development
  • Effective communication with a collaborative style
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong computer skills with Word, PowerPoint, Excel; CRM experience (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) desirable
  • Willingness to work extra hours and travel occasionally
