Are you a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Assistant looking for an opportunity to support care home residents with nutritious meals?

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of high-quality, nutritious meals for residents.
  • Support the chef with food preparation, chopping ingredients, and cooking tasks.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, maintaining food safety standards at all times.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment while keeping the kitchen organized.
  • Help with stock rotation and monitoring food supplies to minimize waste.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including food hygiene regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with care home staff to accommodate dietary needs.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen setting (care home, healthcare, or hospitality) preferred but not essential.
  • Must have the right to work (RTW) in the UK; we do not offer sponsorship.
  • A basic understanding of food hygiene, safety, and dietary requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take direction from the chef.
  • Flexible and reliable, with the ability to cover shifts at short notice.
  • A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Record keeping.

Required Certifications:

  • Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum Level 2) – Essential
  • Food Allergens Training – Essential
  • Health & Safety Awareness – Preferred
  • NVQ Level 2 Catering or Food Preparation – Essential
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) – Essential
  • Food Allergens – Essential
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Records
  • Driving License – Preferred

  • Flexible shifts available
