- Prepare and cook high-quality, nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
- Develop and create diverse menus that are both appealing and balanced, taking into account special dietary requirements within the allocated budget.
- Maintain a high level of food hygiene standards at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the care home staff to accommodate special meal requests and dietary restrictions.
- Manage food inventory and order supplies as needed, maintaining cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
- Manage and oversee kitchen staff.
- Maintain accurate records of food temperatures, storage, and waste management.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a kitchen setting, preferably in a care home, healthcare, or similar setting; however, this is not essential.
- Must have the right to work (RTW) in the UK; unfortunately, we do not offer sponsorship.
- Strong understanding of nutrition, dietary needs, and food safety standards.
- Ability to adjust and use own initiative in different settings.
- Excellent cooking skills and creativity in menu planning.
- Must be flexible to cover last‑minute shift requests and different homes.
- Ability to manage and plan a kitchen rota.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
