We are seeking passionate Kitchen Assistants to work alongside chefs in care home settings, ensuring high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and service.
Company Name: Goodwill Healthcare Services Limited Location: Darlington, Durham Position Type: Zero Hours Contract (Temporary) Hourly Rate: £12.45 – £18.68 Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and serving of high-quality, nutritious meals for residents.
Support the chef with food preparation, chopping ingredients, and cooking tasks.
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, maintaining food safety standards at all times.
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment while keeping the kitchen organized.
Help with stock rotation and monitoring food supplies to minimize waste.
Follow all health and safety procedures, including food hygiene regulations.
Work collaboratively with care home staff to accommodate dietary needs.
Candidate Requirements Previous experience working in a kitchen setting (care home, healthcare, or hospitality preferred but not essential).
Must have the right to work (RTW) in the UK; unfortunately, we do not offer sponsorship.
A basic understanding of food hygiene, safety, and dietary requirements.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take direction from the chef.
Flexible and reliable, with the ability to cover shifts at short notice.
A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
