We enable companies to seamlessly integrate positive impact into what they do through a unified platform while supporting nonprofits in gaining access to cutting-edge technology and finding new funding streams. In 2025 alone, we have facilitated $5 billion in donations to good causes. But this is just the beginning. We’re building the world’s leading platform that powers donations to nonprofits globally.
To keep our momentum and deliver consistently high value to our partners, we need incredible people to help us on our journey – we need you.
Join us as a Senior Platform Engineer. We’re looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Senior Platform Engineer to help us scale the infrastructure that powers our mission. You’ll be a technical leader and hands-on builder on a collaborative team, guiding decisions, mentoring peers, and ensuring our systems are reliable, secure, and built for growth.
If you’re motivated by impact, love building elegant infrastructure, thrive on enabling others, and want to shape the future of a platform that truly matters, this is your role.
As Senior Platform Engineer, your mission will be to:
- Work on the design and evolution of our AWS-based systems with a focus on automation, resilience, and scale.
- Own and extend our Terraform codebases, setting standards for maintainability, security, and modularity.
- Drive improvements in our containerised environments (ECS/EKS) and champion best practices for running Node.js services in production.
- Proactively identify opportunities to optimise cost, performance, and developer velocity.
- Mentor and support mid-level platform engineers, raising the bar for technical excellence and collaboration.
- Work with engineering in a wider sense to ensure their success with the platform.
- Partner with engineering leadership to define platform strategy, architecture choices, and roadmap.
- Elevate observability, monitoring, and incident response practices across the stack.
You’ll work closely with:
- Software Engineers to unblock and accelerate product delivery.
- Product Teams to anticipate infrastructure needs for growth and new features.
- Security and Compliance to design systems that meet rigorous standards.
- Other Platform Engineers to continuously improve how we build, ship, and run software.
After 3 months, success will look like:
- Leading a significant infrastructure project (e.g., migration, scaling initiative, or architecture upgrade).
- Full ownership of one or more critical services/components.
- Actively mentoring other engineers.
This role is a perfect match for you if you have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineer in high-scale environments.
- Deep expertise with AWS (ECS/EKS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, S3, networking).
- Strong proficiency in Terraform (HCL) — from writing complex modules to managing multi-env deployments or at least strong proficiency in another IaC tool like Pulumi/CloudFormation.
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (GitHub Actions, or similar).
- Proficiency in a programming language like Node.js, Python or Go.
- Strong nix sysadmin skills.
- Strong grounding in containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and production best practices.
- A system-wide perspective, you think about reliability, performance, security, and developer experience holistically.
- Experience mentoring or guiding engineers, and a desire to lead by example.
Bonus if you have knowledge or love of:
- Hands-on experience with observability stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Exposure to serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge).
- Familiarity with Typescript/Node.js ecosystems.
- Comfort with incident response, SRE principles, and reliability engineering.
What you can expect upon joining our team:
- Salary reviews and share options becoming an integral part of our growth and share in the company's success.
- Goodstack’s Workplace Giving.
- Vitality Plus - Private health insurance.
- £250 Brighten your day annual budget.
