Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years in FP&A, commercial finance, strategic finance, or top-tier strategy consulting, ideally with a mix of scale-up and more established business experience
  • Proven track record of building financial models from scratch, comfortable with multi-entity, multi-currency models
  • Experience in a commercially facing role, having worked directly with C-level operators, founders, or senior leadership, and being the go-to person for financial answers
  • Experience supporting a fundraise, M&A process, or investor reporting is a strong advantage
  • Background in SaaS, marketplace, fintech, or tech-enabled services preferred; understanding of recurring revenue models, unit economics, and B2B commercial dynamics
  • Exceptional financial modelling skills, building clean, dynamic, assumption-driven models that others can use and trust
  • Strong commercial instinct, interpreting numbers and providing insights
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex financial analysis clearly to a non-finance audience
  • High attention to detail with a bar-raiser mentality, ensuring outputs are polished, structured, and exceed expectations
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to operate independently in a lean team without heavy process or oversight
  • Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets; experience with Xero, HubSpot, Fathom, or similar tools is a plus
  • Think like a business partner, adding insight rather than just presenting data
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, surfacing problems with recommended paths forward
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and answers aren't always obvious

What the job involves

  • Working with the VP Finance as the go-to commercial finance partner for the Founder-CEO, COO, and leadership team, building the FP&A function from scratch and owning everything from the financial model to analysing business line performance to transaction support
  • This role sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and commercial operations — it is not a back-office role
  • Building and maintaining the company's financial model, revenue, cost, headcount, and cash, with scenario and sensitivity analysis
  • Owning the annual budget and rolling forecast process, working with all business functions to set and track targets
  • Producing monthly budget vs actuals variance analysis with clear commentary and insight for the leadership team and board
  • Developing business line P&Ls to provide visibility into how each product and segment is performing
  • Building and owning the investor-ready financial narrative and supporting materials for fundraising and M&A processes
  • Acting as the primary commercial finance partner to the VP Finance and leadership team — turning around ad hoc analysis, modelling, and commercial sense-checks quickly and independently
  • Supporting pricing decisions, unit economics analysis, COGS deep-dives, and margin improvement initiatives
  • Partnering with the GTM team on pipeline-to-revenue reporting, cohort analysis, and commercial deal structuring
  • Evaluating new commercial opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion scenarios with financial rigour
  • Producing high-quality board and investor reporting packs — clear, well-structured, and insight-driven
  • Developing dashboards and automated reporting to provide real-time visibility into financial performance
  • Owning the weekly financial reporting cadence for internal leadership
