Do you consider yourself to be a leader in shaping the provision for additional learning needs in schools in Wales?

Dysgu is a newly established national body, created to transform professional learning and leadership development for the education workforce across Wales.

With a mission to shape the future of education, Dysgu is building a new, coherent model of working – based on the voices of practitioners and designed to support teachers, teaching assistants, school leaders, school improvement advisers, and youth workers.

Dysgu is now looking to appoint a Leader of Additional Learning Needs to lead the day-to-day development and delivery of professional learning for practitioners working with learners with ALN.

This role is central to ensuring that Dysgu’s provision is evidence-informed, responsive to the needs of practitioners across Wales, and aligned with the principles of the National Approach to Professional Learning, the National Professional Learning Entitlement, and the Professional Standards for all practitioners.

The postholder will play a key role in establishing the organisation’s approach to ALN, working closely with a range of seconded practitioners, local authorities, and health professionals. You will help shape and deliver professional learning that empowers practitioners to meet the diverse needs of learners, ensuring inclusive and high-quality education across all settings.

The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable for this post.

All applications will be acknowledged.
