About the Role
A growing business within the waste and resource recovery sector is looking for experienced
HGV Mechanics to help maintain a large commercial vehicle fleet.
This is a hands-on workshop role where you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing HGV vehicles to a high standard, helping ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant and available for operation.
The role would suit an experienced HGV Mechanic who takes pride in high-quality maintenance work and enjoys working both independently and as part of a wider workshop team.

Salary of £49,000 to £56,000
4 days on, 4 days off
6:00am to 6:30pm
Previous HGV workshop experience required
Full UK driving licence required
Own tools required
Category B or CE licence desirable but not essential
Optional overtime available at an enhanced rate
Ongoing training and development available
Key Responsibilities
Carry out six-weekly inspections
Prepare vehicles for MOTs
Complete vehicle repairs
Perform planned preventative maintenance
Carry out reactive maintenance
Diagnose vehicle faults
Complete effective repairs
Maintain accurate maintenance records and paperwork
Report faults, defects and issues to the Workshop Foreman or Supervisor
Maintain a clean, safe and tidy workshop
Work effectively independently and as part of the workshop team
Support high standards of safety, compliance and vehicle reliability
What We're Looking For
Previous experience working in an HGV workshop
Full UK driving licence
Own tools
Strong understanding of vehicle inspection, maintenance and repair
Ability to complete accurate paperwork and maintenance records
Practical and safety-focused approach
Ability to work independently
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Category B driving licence
Category CE licence
Experience maintaining commercial vehicle fleets
Experience within waste, transport, logistics or another fleet-based environment
