Role Overview

A

SHEQ Coordinator is required to support health, safety, environmental and quality standards across a busy operational business.

Working closely with the Regional SHEQ Manager and site-based teams, you will support compliance, reporting, incident investigations, audits and management systems. You will also help ensure that responsibilities are understood, records remain accurate and agreed actions are completed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Regional SHEQ Manager in delivering SHEQ objectives
  • Assist with plans and activities designed to improve safety, environmental and quality performance
  • Ensure accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformities are reported and investigated appropriately
  • Maintain incident files, investigation records and corrective action plans
  • Produce monthly reports covering health, safety and environmental performance
  • Build effective working relationships with operational managers and site teams
  • Support the preparation and review of risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH assessments
  • Help develop and maintain local SHEQ management systems
  • Carry out and record environmental compliance checks across operational sites
  • Organise external surveys and assessments when required
  • Record and follow up actions arising from surveys, audits and assessments
  • Maintain contractor control records and supporting documentation
  • Maintain waste off-taker destination records and associated documents

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Experience within SHEQ, health and safety, environmental management or compliance
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
  • The confidence to communicate effectively with operational teams and managers
  • A self-motivated approach and the ability to take ownership of tasks
  • NEBOSH General Certificate, or a willingness to work towards the qualification
  • Experience within waste management, recycling, manufacturing, logistics, industrial services or another operational environment
  • Experience supporting audits, incident investigations or management systems
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements
