It’s a very responsible job, supporting a wide range of clients with professionalism, empathy, and a smile.
Overview of position
To support clients to remain living in their own homes by providing high-quality care that is respectful, dignified and encourages independence whilst adhering to the care plan. Document and report all relevant client care information and report any changes to the office. To provide care to clients in their own homes, including medication administration, personal care, companionship, household duties and meal preparation.
Reports to: Care Manager
Duties and responsibilities
- To assist clients with all aspects of their personal care, including showering and bathing, dressing, toileting and incontinence.
- To assist clients with all aspects of medication, including Administration, Recording, Encouragement.
- To assist clients with all aspects of their meal preparation, including cooking and reheating, preparing, serving and clearing of meals.
- To support clients in the use of aids and personal equipment, including standing and walking frames, wheelchairs, manual and electric hoists, sliding sheets and moving boards, hearing aids and other physical aids.
- To support clients with home management, including Hoovering and sweeping, washing and storing dishes, washing clothes and hanging them up, making beds and changing bed linen.
- To help in the promotion of a client’s mental and physical activities, such as communication and engagement, going out, hobbies and recreations.
- To document and report all relevant client information, including emergency management, family involvement, external health teams via phone App.
- To support a client through temporary and terminal illness, including End of Life care, hospital appointments, personal care in bed.
- To attend appraisal and development meetings as well as training updates when required.
- To communicate in various formats including Apps on a smartphone.
- To comply with the Good Oaks business guidelines and policies at all times.

What do we require?
