The Role
We’re looking for a hands‑on Warehouse Operative to help keep our fast-moving, temperature-controlled operation running smoothly. You’ll work across the core warehouse supporting various functions, such as goods‑in, fruit checking, picking and packing, amongst other day‑to‑day duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking & Packing: Accurate order picking (including mixed ambient/chilled), careful packing, and clear labelling.
- Fruit Quality Control: Daily visual and taste checks against goodnus standards; proactive removal of sub‑standard items.
- Goods‑In: Assisting with receipt, checking quantities/quality, completing put‑away, and rotating stock (FIFO).
- Housekeeping: Keeping zones clean, tidy and safe (5S mindset), disposing of cardboard/waste, and supporting daily/weekly checks.
- Stock Control: Helping with cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
You’ll work closely with Packing Team Leader, Warehouse Supervisor and the Ops team to meet tight service windows and uphold our food safety standards. As a SALSA‑accredited site, compliance and attention to detail are non‑negotiable.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a warehouse or logistics role (food & beverage or temperature‑controlled environment is a plus).
- Solid understanding of FIFO/stock rotation and basic stock control.
- Comfort with fruit quality checks and handling perishable goods.
- Good level of fitness for lifting, moving pallets/stock, and being on your feet.
- Reliability, strong attention to detail, and a positive, “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” attitude.
- Basic IT literacy for handhelds/WMS and Microsoft Office is helpful.
- Forklift (Counterbalance) certificate is a bonus; training may be available.
Hours
Sunday – Thursday 08:00 – 17:30 (with some flexibility)
