About the Role
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will act as the "CEO" of a specific user segment. You will own the comprehensive understanding of this audience—uncovering their workflows, motivations, and pain points through rigorous research. You won’t just be a marketer; you will be a strategist and a system-builder. You will translate insights into "Source of Truth" personas, architect systematic Go-to-Market (GTM) plans for new features (including AI), and enable the entire company to build with your user in mind.
This is the role for you if you’re excited to work on:
- Unlocking Truths through Rigor: You don’t guess; you validate. You are excited to lead a systematic research agenda—conducting deep-dive interviews, running surveys, and analyzing behavioral data to build data-backed personas and knowledge bases that serve as the internal source of truth.
- Architecting the GTM "Machine": You are systematic and process-obsessed. You don’t just execute launches; you build the frameworks, trackers, and retro processes that allow us to launch features to different segments without friction. You bring order to chaos.
- Strategic Positioning & Narrative: You love the puzzle of differentiation. You can map the competitive landscape, identify our "wedge" in the market, and craft messaging that clearly articulates why Goodnotes is the superior choice for your specific audience.
- Hypothesis-Driven Marketing: You treat marketing as a science. You are eager to set up experiments, pilot new messaging, and use data to iterate on our strategy before scaling it to the wider market.
- Internal Enablement: You want to be the knowledge hub. You are excited to create the "Market Playbook"—the organized libraries of personas, competitor battle cards, and messaging guides—that empower our Product, Sales, and Exec teams to make smarter decisions.
The skills you will need to be successful:
- 3-6 years of marketing/product marketing experience, ideally in B2C (Consumer Apps), SaaS, or AI
- Experience marketing to multiple user segments: You understand how to craft positioning that resonates with both students and professionals, and can navigate the nuances of each audience's needs, pain points, and decision-making processes.
- Proven experience launching AI or ML-driven products: You understand the nuances of marketing AI (trust, privacy, iteration) and can navigate the rapid pace of this sector.
- Research & Insights Excellence: You have a strong track record of conducting user research, synthesizing competitive intelligence, and translating insights into compelling positioning and GTM strategies.
- Data Fluency: You are comfortable working with data to extract actionable insights, identify trends and patterns, and recommend strategic next steps based on your analysis.
The interview process:
- An introductory call with someone from our talent acquisition team.
- A role-specific call with someone from the product Marketing team.
- A call with your hiring manager.
- A meet the team call with 2 or 3 GoodPeople you’d be working closely with at Goodnotes.
- AI Literacy Interview.
What’s in it for you:
- Budget for things like noise-cancelling headphones, setting up your home office, personal development, professional training, and health & wellness.
- Sponsored visits to our Hong Kong or London office every 2 years.
- Company-wide annual offsite.
- Flexible working hours and location.
- Medical insurance for you and your dependents.
Note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, including verification of employment, education, and criminal records.
