Looking for a technically strong Group Finance Manager for a 6 month cover within a FTSE listed events business. This role will be responsible for internal and external consolidated reporting, as well as providing technical accounting support across the organisation, including acquisitions, disposals and restructuring. The team is responsible for all external financial reporting for the organisation, as well as ensuring a timely and accurate monthly group close process - including preparing key reconciliations - to support an efficient external reporting cycle. The team also provides technical accounting guidance across the organisation and is heavily involved in activities such as acquisitions, disposals, and restructuring.
Key Responsibilities:- Play a key role in the monthly preparation of consolidated results and internal reporting through the group consolidation system.
- Contribute to the accurate and timely preparation, internal approval, and delivery of the financial sections of the year-end external reporting.
- Liaise with and provide financial information to external auditors.
- Support the financial accounting aspects of M&A activity, working closely with shared service centres and divisional teams, including facilitating related reporting requirements.
- Support the application of IFRS across the organisation by providing technical accounting guidance to divisions, service centres, and other group functions.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA or ACCA), ideally obtained through a major accounting firm.
- Strong technical accounting background under IFRS.
- 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience with group consolidation in a complex large organisation.
- Experience in external financial reporting.
