A global, innovation-led organisation within a highly regulated and commercially dynamic sector is seeking a technically strong Tax Specialist to support its UK & Ireland operations. This is a broad, hands-on role sitting at the core of the tax function, with exposure across compliance, reporting, business partnering, and transformation initiatives. You'll operate as a key link between in-house teams, shared service centres, and external advisors—ensuring accurate reporting while contributing insight that supports strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead coordination of UK & Ireland direct and indirect tax compliance (including Corporation Tax, VAT, and employment-related taxes)
- Oversee tax inputs into monthly reporting cycles and statutory accounts, maintaining integrity and audit readiness
- Act as a technical point of contact for tax authority queries and internal stakeholders
- Provide practical, commercially focused tax guidance to finance and operational teams
- Translate complex financial/tax data into clear insights using data visualisation tools
- Support governance frameworks and ensure alignment with evolving global tax policies (including transfer pricing)
- Contribute to tax transformation initiatives, including process improvement, automation, and ERP enhancements
- Monitor legislative developments and assess impact on the business
Profile
- Professionally qualified (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
- Strong grounding in UK corporate tax and VAT; exposure to Irish tax advantageous
- Experience in a multinational environment or top-tier advisory firm
- Confident working across both compliance and advisory elements
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems (SAP desirable)
- Interest in tax technology and data tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx)
- Commercially aware, with the ability to translate technical tax into business impact
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
