Partnering with a growing business, looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to take ownership of the end-to-end AP function and play a key role in its ongoing development.
This role is a 6-12month FTC with intention to continue as permanent employment. Salary range is £50K-60K per annum pro rata, and is dependant on relevant experience for this role.

Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the full Accounts Payable lifecycle, from invoice processing through to payments and reconciliations.
- Review, improve and streamline existing processes, identifying opportunities for automation and increased efficiency.
- Develop and maintain robust AP controls, procedures and reporting.
- Monitor outstanding invoices, payment activity and key operational issues.
- Work closely with Finance and wider business stakeholders to ensure effective AP operations.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of AP systems and technology.
- Help scale the function as the business grows, with potential responsibility for supporting or supervising junior team members.
Experience Required:
- Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable experience within a high-volume or complex environment.
- A broad understanding of AP operations, controls, reporting and risk management.
- A proven track record of process improvement and driving efficiencies.
- Experience with AP systems, automation tools and finance technology.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Clear career progression, demonstrating increasing responsibility and ownership.
- Senior, supervisory or team leadership experience would be advantageous.
Experience within a business involved in the buying and selling of physical goods would be particularly beneficial. Candidates from commodities trading, trading businesses or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) environments are also encouraged to apply.
