We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established housing association for an experienced Compliance Manager to lead the delivery, assurance and continuous improvement of statutory compliance across a diverse residential portfolio.
Reporting to the Head of Fire and Compliance, the Compliance Manager will provide operational leadership across all key compliance areas, including fire safety, asbestos, gas, electrical, legionella and water hygiene, lifts and mechanical systems. The role is responsible for ensuring that all properties remain safe, fully compliant and aligned with statutory, regulatory and organisational requirements.
The postholder will lead a team of Compliance Coordinators and specialist compliance staff, overseeing contractor performance, compliance programmes, quality assurance and regulatory reporting. They will ensure that servicing, inspections, remedial works and planned compliance programmes are delivered on time, to the required standard and in accordance with relevant legislation and best practice.
A key aspect of the role is providing assurance to senior leadership through performance reporting, compliance audits and risk management. The Compliance Manager will monitor compliance across the housing stock, manage third-party assurance inspections, oversee fire risk assessment actions, and drive service improvements that strengthen compliance performance and reduce organisational risk.
The role also includes responsibility for procuring and managing compliance contractors, overseeing significant compliance budgets, ensuring value for money and maintaining robust governance and financial controls across all compliance workstreams.
Working closely with Asset Management, Property Services and Housing teams, the Compliance Manager will use compliance data and performance insight to improve service delivery, support regulatory inspections and provide assurance that statutory obligations are consistently met.
This is a senior operational leadership role that requires strong technical compliance knowledge, excellent contractor management skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a safe, compliant and customer-focused property service across a substantial housing portfolio.
