A large and highly regarded UK organisation within the Property and Real Estate Sector is seeking a VAT Advisory Manager to join its established in-house tax team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex VAT advisory matters across property development, operational activities and strategic projects, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across finance, development and operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring VAT risks are managed effectively while identifying opportunities for tax efficiencies across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical VAT advice to the business on a range of operational and strategic matters
  • Support property development and land transactions, advising on VAT structuring and implications
  • Review and advise on partial exemption, capital goods scheme and VAT recovery methodologies
  • Identify VAT risks and planning opportunities across projects and business activities
  • Partner with finance and operational teams to ensure VAT compliance and efficient processes
  • Provide VAT training and guidance to internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with HMRC and external advisors where required
  • Support wider tax matters within the tax function where appropriate

Candidate Profile

  • Strong UK VAT technical experience
  • Experience gained either in practice, HMRC or in-house
  • Professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA or ATT (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • The ability to translate complex VAT matters into clear commercial advice
