We're working with a leading housing organisation based in East London to support the recruitment of a Tenancy Sustainment Officer. The successful candidate will provide practical advice, early intervention and coordinated support to residents who may be facing financial hardship, risks to their tenancy or other barriers to sustaining their home.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide welfare benefits and tenancy sustainment support to residents, with a particular focus on Universal Credit.
- Meet residents in their homes, at the office and via telephone to understand their circumstances and provide appropriate support.
- Complete detailed income and expenditure assessments for existing and prospective tenants, identifying potential welfare benefits and additional sources of income.
- Work collaboratively with residents to agree and implement tailored action plans, including support with Universal Credit housing costs and benefit appeals.
- Regularly review support plans and work closely with internal teams and external support agencies to ensure residents receive appropriate support.
- Manage a caseload effectively while meeting individual and team targets focused on tenancy sustainment and maximising income for residents.
