Our client is a leading international financial institution with a strong presence across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. They are looking for a Tax Director to lead the Europe and APAC tax function, overseeing compliance, reporting, accounting, and advisory across multiple jurisdictions. This is a senior, strategic role with responsibility for managing a small team, collaborating closely with business units, and ensuring tax matters support business strategy while maintaining full compliance with local laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Europe and APAC tax function, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Oversee preparation, review, and sign-off of tax returns, statutory account disclosures, and tax accounting for multiple entities.
- Provide proactive tax advice to business units on transactions, products, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Treasury, and Regulatory teams) on complex tax matters.
- Develop and mentor team members, ensuring knowledge transfer and building a strong compliance culture.
- Engage with tax authorities on audits, enquiries, and risk assessments.
- Shape and influence business strategy through effective tax planning and risk management.
- UK Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), ACA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK and international tax, including corporate planning, compliance, and reporting.
- Proven experience managing multi-jurisdictional tax matters (UK focused with management across EMEA and APAC).
- Hands-on, strategic thinker with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
